Water has been a recurring theme throughout my career.  I'm constantly drawn to it, fascinated by it, frightened by it...

My current series centres around the ancient chalk streams of southern england. This is such an enormous subject, I could rattle on for hours as to why the chalk streams are so inspirational to me.  I am immersed in this theme lately which is taking me along with it and I don't want to investigate it in any way at this juncture.  I am just letting go in this moment. This painting is dedicated to the phenomenal Mr Feargal Sharkey! " A good heart!"

The painting here is simply called 'Afon Kennet / The river Kennet'

oils on linen

40mm x 50mm. (This painting is framed + 4mm)

I lived for a short period in Marlborough, Wiltshire ( 2021 ). The Kennet flows through here and I daily walked beside it accompanied by my little dog Ruby. We will be back this Autumn for a few weeks (2024).
